Clinical Analysis of Gallstone Pancreatitis




Abstract
Thirty-six patients with proven gallstone pancreatitis (group I) were compared with 99 patients of gallstone without pancreatitis (group II) from May, 1983 to May, 1991 at Yong Dong Severance Hospital.
@ES The results are as follows:
@EN 1) there is no difference between age and sex distribution
2) There has been increased level of total bilirubin and serum amylase in acute gallstone pancreatitis (group I) than group II (p<0.01). SGOT and SGPT are also increased in acute gallstone pancreatitis.
3) Cholecystectomy and exploration of the common bile duct are performed in 28 patients and another 8 pateints undergone cholecystectomy and transduodenal sphincterotomy.
4) Physical characteristics of gallstone in acute gallstone pancreatitis (group I) reveal more muddy and multiple.
5) Operative cholangiography shows pancreatic duct reflux of dye in 67% of acute gallstone pancreatitis (group I) and more longer common channel than group II.
6) Nearly all patients have been undergone delayed operation in acute gallstone pancreatitis, which result showed 2 cases of morbidity and no mortality.
